An ode to independence and self-love, Robyn Wilson releases ‘Love Songs to Myself’
Championing self love and putting yourself first, Robyn Wilson is releasing her latest single ‘Love Songs to Myself’.
As clear through the songs title ‘Love Songs to Myself’ is an ode to contentedness with the single life, acknowledging your self-worth and that there is more to life than seeking out romantic love. This song brings an important and inspirational message that goes against the classic media and societal standard that we all need a partner to be complete.
Music has been a longstanding love for Robyn who began writing songs at the age of 10.
“When I started secondary school, I was a bit of a nerd to be honest but I was always singing to myself which I got picked on a lot for, but it was just something I did without even thinking, at home and at school! Obviously harder said than done, I actually went years just trying not to make friends and shutting myself off to people because I just thought that’s how things worked. I feel like 2019 was definitely my year and I was finally getting close to being completely comfortable in my skin, wearing what I want, singing what I want, saying what I want, wearing as much or as little make-up as I want!”
