Alan Dweck Comes Out With Newest Single Called “Before”

Hailing from London, Alan Dweck, guitarist and songwriter, released a new single entitled “Before” on April 9th. Alan Dweck is an up-and-coming artist that has lived all over the world and having previously released an album in 2019 called Entangled Moments, featuring songs like “Statues in Paris” and “Be’elzebub Is Dancing.” Later this year, Dweck plans on releasing a full-length album which will feature “Before.”

Alan Dweck incorporates musical elements from multiple genres, namely blues, soul, jazz, and progressive, in his latest single. “Before” takes these musical elements but puts a modern spin on them. Opening with a muted bass sound, crying guitar, and consistent dragging drum beat, the instruments really set the stage for a song about Dweck’s global experiences. The wailing guitar solo halfway through the song perfectly complements the backing beat of the song and helps build into the climactic point of the song, in which Dweck really gives it his all.

Lyrically, “Before” talks about the importance of knowing yourself, being comfortable with yourself, and finding where you belong. Before someone can do anything, no matter where in the world, they need to be certain of themselves and find a place for themselves. This song stresses upon the importance of putting yourself first while paying tribute to the great blues and soul songs of the past.

“Alan Dweck paints visceral imagery through his music. Narrative driven, at times almost theatrical nod to piano-driven cinematic soundscapes and acoustic guitar licks spliced with Progressive, Jazz and Blues. Alan has always pursued a symbiotic combination of the sonic and visual arts.”
