PH News: Can A Vegan Valentines Help Save Your Romance & The Planet?

We all enjoy a little romance in our lives, but what if the key to the perfect Valentine’s Day is found in one of society’s newest lifestyle trends: veganism?

Stem & Glory (https://www.stemandglory.uk/) is a multi-award-winning plant-based bar and restaurant franchise and are defying Valentine’s Day expectations — on Valentine’s Day, make the earth your partner as well. The list of fruits and vegetables with romantic associations and traditional aphrodisiac properties is extensive. From artichokes and beets to chiles and avocado, there’s something for everyone. Vitamins in combination can have a significant impact on not just how we feel, but also how our actions affect the environment. When compared to a plant-based dinner, a single steak supper can emit up to 50 times the CO2!

A plant-based supper may be full of the symbolism that has come to define the Valentine season, in addition to the scientific benefits. The fruit was exchanged as a form of romance by lovers in many ancient societies. Strawberries are said to be the result of Aphrodite’s heart-shaped tears! Because strawberries are filled with vitamin C, which is necessary for the creation of sex hormones and libido-inducing chemical neurotransmitters, they have become the lovers’ fruit — all without using any animal products.

“These ingredients are on the high side of nutritionally effective in romance and sex drive” so says Food and Drinks Heroes’ finalist, SME Cambridge Businesswoman of the Year, and Steam & Glory founder Louise Palmer-Masterton. Head of Food Development Ed Al Subaei follows “These fruits contain nutrition that develops effectively in humans to quickly give them blush, sex drive, calmness, and power all at the same time.”.

With a predicted 40% increase of vegans in the UK by 2021 (source: Finder.com), it’s apparent that eco-conscious living is growing in popularity, which begs the question: why not show our planet some love this Valentine’s Day?

Stem & Glory urges lovers to explore a different approach to the most romantic of seasons on Valentine’s Day. After all, studies suggest that people who consume a meat-free diet look younger.

Why not cut out the animal items and really enjoy the holiday’s enthusiasm, while also increasing body fragrance and post-date performance (source: New Zealand Centre for Human-Animal Studies)?
