BandLab NME Awards 2022 – Winners & Highlights

Last night, the world of Rock’n’Roll came back to life, with the BandLab NME Awards coming back in the spotlights after their two-year absence due to the pandemic. As one of the most celebrated rock’n’roll awards ceremony, the BandLab NME Awards returned at the O2 Academy Brixton and the room was full of big names, uplifting vibes, beautiful messages, support to the NHS workers and of course, lots of great music!

To begin with, Sam Fender’s performance of “Seventeen Going Under” opened the ceremony, and from that you just knew that you were witnessing a memorable night (Click Here)! Some highlights included: the drag legend Bimini appearing onto stage in full glam, Liam Gallagher expressing his gratitude to NHS workers by dedicating Music Moment of the Year award to them and Little Simz bringing the room in tears with her heartfelt message ““And I would really just hope for us to love on each other, to be there for each other, to support each other, and do the best that we can, because so many people don’t have that right now” – which to be honest, is what our world is in desperate need right now.

There were also other moving moments that spoke directly into the audience’s hearts, with The Cure frontman Robert Smith honestly standing with the people of Ukraine and expressing his deep support to them, and with the CHVRCHES totally relatable words “The world is a massive fire at the moment, so it’s nice to just think about tunes.”
