Stephen Wicks’ New Single Turns a Scientific Symbol Into Song

The Doomsday Clock has become the inspiration for Stephen Wicks’ latest music. His forthcoming single, “The Doomsday Clock (85 Seconds to Midnight),” transforms the symbolic warning into a rock track about global uncertainty.

The clock’s 2026 setting of 85 seconds to midnight reflects concerns about threats including climate change, nuclear proliferation, artificial intelligence and geopolitical instability. Wicks uses that setting as a direct prompt for the song’s atmosphere and message.

This release marks another step in Wicks’ late-life shift from business to music. After an extensive career as a corporate executive and property entrepreneur, he now focuses on songwriting and recording.

The project brings together producer George Shilling and guitarist Stefan Hauk. Their contributions support a track designed to move beyond entertainment and into commentary on the risks facing future generations.
